Race Team and Sponsored Riders

King of Ballarat Rnd 2

You know you in Ballarat when every tent has a heater running out the front. With the temp sitting at a barmy 8 degrees you struggled to get a spot at the heater and was defiantly warmer on the bike, some people even opting to push up to stay warm rather than freeze in the shuttle line. At least the rain (Snow) held off during the day with just a slight drizzle every now and then to settle the dust on the track. The track for round to was running absolutely prime on both practice and race day. Once again the riders are very happy with what Dirt Art have done on adjusting this one. With a lot of switch back berms they built up the riders were loving the faster paced track. As usual the infamous root section on this track took its toll on a few riders but would have been a lot worse if they had a soaking of rain which we have seen in past years.

This was the round we had decided to release our new jersey’s, spray jackets and gear bags. We received some great reviews on the new gear and our riders were looking top notch on track. We will be releasing our new Beanies and hats at the last round and also have our race pants getting manufactured at the moment but won’t be done in time for the last round unfortunately. We believe the Beanies with be a sort after item in Ballarat. We will also be attending the Cressy Decent at the You Yangs which we are happy to get invited to.

Our riders rode exceptionally well over the weekend and we couldn’t be more proud to have such a great group representing us this year. With 3 of our riders getting on the podium everyone in the team was stoked. Charlie Jones once again received a convincing second place finish behind local rider Luke Barlow.

Dylan Lombard also getting on the podium with a 4th in A Grade, a great effort competing against some very fast competition including team mates Liam Tohmas who was just nudge of the podium getting 6th and Will Arblaster who had a crash in his first run but backing it up with a very competitive time in his second run ending up with 16th. Chris Richards also had a great ride sneaking into the top 10 in A Grade with a very promising 10th overall. James Tamanika who has come on board to help out with Team management and marketing our brand had a suprise 5th in over 35s, a great result after having a huge crash in practice and wasn’t going to race but decided too at the last minute. We thinks James is looking to hit up Nurofen for a sponsorship. LOL.

We would once again like to thank Club Mud for holding another great Race Meeting and also to the other sponsors of the KOB Dynamite Cycles and Lumber Jack for their support of this great series. To the Volunteers that go into making it all possible Thank You this wouldn’t happen with out you. We can’t forget all the people that take photos there are some great shots coming out from this round , well done. Look forward to the last round hopefully the sun comes out to finish the series off.
